It’s a curious mix of old and new. Pacific Rim Technologies has introduced a $699.99 Jukebox Station that works with the iPod. The Jukebox Station will be available exclusively at Target.com in North America beginning in October.
Manufactured to look like an old-time jukebox, the Jukebox Station features a universal dock for the iPod. It comes with an IR remote control to adjust audio volume and select your playlist. It’s enclosed in a whole-wood assembly and uses a 6-inch subwoofer, two magnetically-shielded tweeters and mid-range drivers. It stands 1 meter high.
More than just an iPod dock, however, the Jukebox Station also features an FM radio and CD player, and an LED lighting system. The device features RCA input jacks to accept audio from other sources, also also has 3.5mm mini jack input and output. For video iPod owners, the Jukebox Station also has RCA video output capability, so you can watch iPod video on a television. The window is lockable for security, as well.
