FracturedSoftware updated its Mac OS X MIDI player, adding several larger pianos and a MIDI library with playlists that help users store, organize, and play their files.
Rondo 2.0 is designed to help users follow the music as it plays. Its vertical piano roll with a horizontal keyboard located directly over the scrolling notes displays which notes are about to sound. Features such as looping, tempo control, and separate audio and visual track filtering help users focus on just a part of the melody to aid in playing along.
Rondo 2.0 sells for $25; existing users can upgrade for free. FracturedSoftware says that early Rondo 2.0 purchasers will be eligible for a free upgrade to version 3. The software runs on OS X 10.3 or later and requires QuickTime 6.5.2 or later.
