Cocoatech on Tuesday announced the release of Path Finder 4.5, a new version of their file browser for Mac OS X. A free upgrade for existing Path Finder 4 customers, the full version costs $34.95. Upgrades from previous releases cost $17.95.
Path Finder is a replacement for Mac OS X’s own Finder, and provides many extra features such as additional view options, the ability to set default permissions to new files and folders, a Drop Stack area that lets you temporarily store files and folders, and advanced features such as invisible file browsing, view in hexadecimal and much more.
New to this release is Undo support; a “Superuser” mode that temporarily elevates your permissions to superuser level; the ability to edit label names and colors; multiple shelves; reload file listing; performance improvements and more.
A 21-day trial version can be downloaded. Path Finder requires Mac OS X v10.4 or later.
