Recosoft has announced the forthcoming release of PDF2Office Personal 3.0, a new version of their PDF to Microsoft Word conversion plug-in. Coming in September, 2006, the PDF2Office Personal 3 costs $59, or $29 to upgrade.
PDF2Office Personal enables Microsoft Word users to recreate the original construction and layout of a PDF-formatted document. It regroups independent graphic elements, extracts images, creates tables, processes headers and footers, endnotes and footnotes and more.
The new release of PDF2Office Personal touts more than 250 new features and improvements, and is based on new technology, according to the developer. Among the key new features is Universal binary support to allow the software to run natively on Intel and PowerPC-based Macs alike.
Now based on a client-server architecture, PDF2Office Personal uses a server program to do the PDF to Word conversion to “insulate” Word from the process, according to Recosoft. Also new in this release is static form editing capability; font matching, substitution and auto sizing; support for password-protected PDF files; better support for complex layouts and more.
Users who bought PDF2Office Personal 2 after August 1, 2006 are entitled to a free upgrade.
