Third Street Software has announced the release of Sente v4.0, a new version of their academic literature research and bibliography software for Mac OS X. New features include the ability to find full text of academic journal articles and more. It costs $129.95, less for academic licenses.
Sente is aimed at teachers, scientists, researchers, students and others who want to keep up with academic literature. It provides an interface that can be used to look up data at hundreds of sources, and automatically looks for new results daily. It also includes features to review and organize search results.
In addition to full text lookup, Sente 4.0 can use multiple methods to locate files, including OpenURL, the DOI/Handle system and PubMed LinkOut. Sente now supports Spotlight to find local files and attach them to the appropriate references. It can also download cover art from books on Amazon.com; can create “scripts” of full text retrieval methods; PDF file renaming and organization; enhancements to the Harvard, Chicago, APA and MLA bibliography formats and more.
Sente 4.0 is a Universal binary. It requires Mac OS X v10.4 or later. Sente 4.0 is a free upgrade for all registered users. A demo version is available for download.
