Preflighting software maker Markzware has announced the release of ID2Q7, a QuarkXPress XTension that converts Adobe InDesign files into QuarkXPress. It costs $199 and is available exclusively for the Mac for now — a Windows version is in development.
ID2Q7 saves object positions, colors, fonts, text attributes, images and other elements of the page layout. It can convert between cross-platform files too, so, for example, you can convert an InDesign file created on a PC to Mac QuarkXPress and vice versa.
Features include support for “runaround on all sides of the object.” ID2Q7 works with QuarkXPress versions 6 and 7 — Markzware notes that ID2Q7 does not presently support QuarkXPress 7 on Intel-based Macs. It also supports Adobe InDesign versions 1.5 through 4.x.
