Taparo is a new game developer based in Munich, Germany. Their debut release, for Mac OS X and Windows, is a logic puzzle game called Impulse, and it’s available for download now. It costs $19.95 to register. You can also play online for free.
In Impulse, you must move a ball from its starting point to the target. You do so by placing “bombs” and other objects in the ball’s path to make it move indirectly to the end. Some objects in the game have special features — geometrically shapes that cause the ball to rebound, for example — and some areas of the level might change the direction the ball is moving. It’s an intriguing mix of ballistics and physics.
Additionally, Taparo has published an online-only game called Robo Pinball — a 3D pinball simulation that includes a mode in which you see the pinball game from a ball’s eye view.
