Onset Computer Corp. has announced the release of their Mac-compatible HOBO Pendant G Logger, a data logger that can measure and record tilt, orientation, activity and motion both indoors and outdoors. It’s priced at $99.
The HOBO Pendant G Logger is about half the size of an iPod shuffle, and can be used by hobbyists, researchers, students and scientists to record data of all kinds — from recording G forces on rollercoasters to activity patterns of people and pets. The Hobo Pendant G Logger features an omnidirectional accelerometer and on-board memory capable of storing 64,000 measurements.
Once recorded, the data is transferred to a Mac or PC using a USB optic base station. The HOBOware Lite software (included) can then display the recorded data in colorful graphs, and can be printed out.
The $99 price is available through the end of the year. Beginning in January, 2007 the kid will cost $139. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3 or later.
