SubRosaSoft on Wednesday introduced MacForensicsLab v1.5, a new version of their suite of forensics and analysis tools. New to this release is a bootable DVD that works on both Intel and PowerPC-based Macs. MacForensicsLab costs $995.
Aimed at forensics professionals, technicians and others who need to salvage data from computers, MacForensicsLab includes tools to do data analysis, evidence retrieval and facts reporting.
New to this release is the Auto Report Generation function, which lets you export a report in HTML format that combines case details, thumbnails of bookmarked files and log data. It also incorporates a new file browser that lets you view content from an entire directory structure in one window, previewing pictures, movies, audio files and more. An updated salvage process can resume if halted because of insufficient space. It’s been streamlined, too.
MacForensicsLab requires Mac OS X v10.3 or later.
