WiebeTech on Tuesday announced its Forensic SATADock v4, a new version of its tool used by investigators and technicians to duplicate suspect Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drives using USB and FireWire 800. It costs $399.95.
The device is write-blocked, preventing you from doing anything that might damage the contents of the target drive, and now it has more LED indicators to monitor operations, including an indicator to let you know that write-blocking is active.
It also tells you when FireWire is attached, when USB is attached, when the 12 volt input jack is active, when power is getting to the drive and when there’s power output. The Forensic SATADock can be attached to any SATA drive and powered using an included 12 volt adapter or through a 4-pin molex connector, like a standard drive.
