Aspyr Media on Wednesday announced the release of an update to its turn-based strategy game Civilization III: Complete. The 42MB update brings the Mac version to 1.22 Rev A.
Civilization III: Complete is the second iteration of this classic turn-based strategy game on the Macintosh. Originally released by MacSoft, Civilization III: Complete saw new life on the Macintosh when Aspyr picked up the game’s license and redid the Macintosh conversion, this time adding the “Conquests” and multiplayer “Play the World” expansion packs in one box.
The new 1.22 Rev A release, free for all Civilization III: Complete users, adds Universal binary support for Intel and PowerPC-based Macs. What’s more, a number of bug fixes have also been made: A load error bug has been corrected, instances where the game would fail when completing research are fixed; sporadic crashes related to music and music stuttering are fixed; custom scenarios are now properly found if placed in the right folder; saved files are now compressed and more.
