ArcSoft has debuted
PhotoStudio Darkroom, an image processing software application aimed at digital camera hobbyists and pros looking to do non-destructive image processing on their files. It costs $99.99.
With PhotoStudio DarkRoom, users can adjust white balance, exposure, noise, hue and saturation, brightness and contrast, curves and levels, and can apply color effects like black & white and sepia tone. PhotoStudio Darkroom also includes features for fixing barrel, pincushion, perspective distortions and color fringing issues.
The software works with RAW, JPEG and TIFF-formatted image files. It works with the RAW image files produced by a number of camera models from Canon, Nikon and Panasonic, and also supports cameras that use DNG, including Hasselblad, Leica, Ricoh and Samsung models. ArcSoft said that additional RAW formats will be supported through online updates.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3 or later, G4, G5 or Intel, 512MB RAM, 50MB hard disk space, 800 x 600 pixel display.
