Miglia Technology on Tuesday introduced the Dialog Phone, a $79 USB-based interface that lets you chat with other users using Skype or iChat AV.
Miglia calls the Dialog Phone “a phone for your computer.” It’s a wireless speakerphone that connects to your Mac using a USB 2.0-compatible dongle. The device features a call button and volume control key, which doubles as a scrollwheel for navigating through lists of contacts. Software included with the Dialog Phone integrate’s Skype and Skype out with iChat AV contacts, all in a single application.
The Dialog Phone is powered by two AAA alkaline batteries (included) — it works up to 20 feet away from the USB interface. The device uses a 2.4GHz wireless radio connection. A USB extension cable is included if you can’t plug the adapter directly into an open port.
System requirements call for a G4, G5 or Intel-based Mac, Mac OS X v10.4 or later, USB 2.0 and Internet connection.
