Realmac Software on Thursday released RapidWeaver 3.5, a new version of its theme-based visual Web site editor for Mac OS X. New to this release is Universal binary support and many new features, including a streamlined interface. RapidWeaver costs $39.95.
RapidWeaver enables you to publish complete Web sites without having to use HTML. Pre-loaded with a number of pre-designed themes, RapidWeaver allows you to customize your Web site using drag-and-drop graphics and audio files. You can create Weblogs, online photo albums, podcasts, movie pages and more.
New to this release are enhancements to blogging tools. Category pages provide improved continuity, and “perma-links” are now supported. Pings to sites such as Technorati.com are now supported. The Link panel has been enhanced with direct links to blog entries, podcasts and photos. The Media inspector has been improved with border and drop shadow support. Photo albums now support Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) instead of tables; seven new graphical themes have been added, Secure FTP (SFTP) transfers are now supported, and more language localizations are supported as well.
RapidWeaver 3.5 requires Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later.
