O’Reilly has published Mac OS X Tiger Server Administration, an e-book penned by Michael Bartosh, creator of Mac OS X Panther Server Administration . Available as a PDF file, it costs $19.99.
The e-book has been published posthumously — Bartosh died in June. The 332 page tome discusses the administration of Mac OS X Server v10.4 from the perspective of Mac, Unix and Windows administrators who need to master every aspect of the software, from using the command line to the graphical tools Apple includes.
Topics include setup and configuration, Open directory, network services, file and print services, security, Internet services and workgroup management. Updates from the original Panther version — which was put into print — include information on Tiger’s iChat server, Launch Services, Certificate Services and Software Update Server.
