Freeverse Software on Monday announced the preview release of Lineform, a vector drawing application for Mac OS X. You can download it now and produce watermark-free images until October 7, 2006. The software is priced at $79.95.
Tools supported by Lineform include Bezier editing, freeflow text, gradients, CMYK preview, boolean operations, expert typesetting, SVG format support, arrows, outline, free transform and more.
Lineform received recognition at this past August’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), held by Apple in San Francisco. The application won a 2006 Apple Design Award. Lineform was created by Will Thimbleby.
Although Freeverse has historically been known best for its popular games, such as Burning Monkey Solitaire, the company has pushed into the Mac utility market in recent years with commercial publication of products like Comic Life Deluxe, which lets you turn iPhoto albums into comic strips; Sound Studio, an audio editing tool, and BumperCar, a kid-safe Web browser.
Lineform will be released to retail stores later this Fall, according to Freeverse. You can download the preview now and buy it online in the interim.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later; Lineform is offered as a Universal binary that runs natively on PowerPC and Intel-based Macs.
