Sonnet Technologies has announced the Volta for video iPod. The battery adapter provides additional charge time for iPods with video, including the original 30GB and 60GB versions, and the new 30GB and 80GB models. Volta will cost $69.95 and will ship on Friday, September 15, 2006.
Volta is made from aluminum with a glossy black finish. It clips to the back of the iPod, and powers the iPod the same way it would if it were charging from a computer or AC adapter. What’s more, Volta can stand upright. When Volta is attached, video play time is increased an additional 13 hours.
Four LEDs on the front indicate charging status and remaining charge level. Inside is a 2100 mAh lithium-polymer battery. Included with Volta is a charging cable that works with any computer, AC adapter or car charger with a USB port. A detachable belt clip is also included.
