Other World Computing (OWC) is now offering 2GB memory upgrade kits for Apple’s recently unveiled Intel Core 2 Duo-powered iMac systems. The kits cost $259.99.
The updated Intel iMac touts two user-accessible memory slots. The 2GB memory kit features a matched pair of chips that provide a total of 2GB of RAM — matched pairs provide the best possible performance for multi-core systems.
OWC also offers a “3GB” kit for $859 — that consists of two matched 2GB memory modules (the iMac can only address 3GB, however, so it appears as 3GB when you check using the System Profiler).
