TechTracker on Monday released VersionTracker Pro 4.2 for Mac, a new version of the utility that goes hand-in-hand with the popular Web site for tracking the latest updates to Macintosh application software. VersionTracker Mac 4.2 Pro costs $49.95 for a three-license version.
VersionTracker Pro scans the software installed on your Mac and compares it to the database at VersionTracker.com, telling you when your software is is outdated. The service is paired with user reviews, as well.
New to this release is the ability to filter updates by operating system point version (for example, 10.4.3). Users can scan applications for every OS X file type or format the system supports, including Unix. VersionTracker Pro now supports external drives and partitions more effectively. And VersionTracker Pro is now a Universal binary, running natively on Intel- and PowerPC-based Macs alike.
