Apple has released Final Cut Pro v5.1.2, an update to its professional digital video editing software. The 28MB download is available from Apple’s Web site.
The 5.1.2 release addresses effects compatibility issues and video format compatibility, according to Apple, and resolves long-standing issues with video scope performance and audio output.
Native support and Easy Setups have been added for HDV formats supported by JVC and Canon camcorders. The software also updates compatibility with DVCPRO HD camcorders. Compatibility issues with Panasonic P2 camcorders have been resolved. The update also supports native editing of XDCAM HD, real-time playback and effects support for MPEG IMX at 30Mbps, and many other changes,
Apple recommends the update for all Final Cut Pro 5.1.x customers.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4.7 and QuickTime 7.1.3.
