FileWave, the system management software for Mac OS X and Windows, was updated to version 2.6 on Wednesday. New to this release is Universal binary support for the Mac version.
FileWave enables system managers to do mass installs, network-based system configuration and management of new software and patches. It’s scalable and works cross-platform.
All of FileWave 2.6’s Mac OS X components are now Universal binaries, according to the developer, so they’ll run natively on Intel and PowerPC-based Macs. What’s more, FileWave administrators can control or observe remote computers using Apple Remote Desktop 3.0, Timbuktu or command line remote control via SSH.
