Recosoft on Thursday announced the release of PDF2Office Personal v3.0 for Mac OS X, a new version of their plug-in that converts PDF documents to Microsoft Word format. It costs $59, or $29 to upgrade from version 2.
Most notably in this release, PDF2Office Personal v3 is a Universal binary that runs natively on Intel and PowerPC-based Macs, but that’s not all — Recosoft counts more than 250 new features and enhancements as well. For example, the software can convert static PDF forms into editable word documents and converts PDF files into high-resolution images embedded in word documents.
The software is based on a client-server architecture — it links to a Desktop Server application (included) that performs the conversion work, so Word doesn’t get involved directly. The plug-in can manage PostScript font matching, substitution and scaling, password-protected documents, and more.
