Mark/Space on Friday announced that it’s discontinued development of its Missing Sync for Hiptop, the software that lets Mac users exchange data with Danger Hiptop devices — commonly known to T-Mobile users as the Sidekick.
“It is unfortunate, but the market for this product does not support continued development,” said a company spokesman in a statement.
Mark/Space notes that the software will continue to synchronize data with carriers’ services as long as Danger and their carriers support the existing sync protocol. E-mail and Web-based customer support for the product from Mark/Space will continue until September 30, 2007.
Anyone who bought the Missing Sync for Hiptop during September, 2006 will automatically receive a refund — refunds should be processed within the next few days.
Customers who bought the software prior to September, 2006 can get a $10 “crossgrade” to Mark/Space’s Missing Sync software for Palm or Windows Mobile, instead.
