Bodelin Technologies on Tuesday announced it’s shipping a higher-resolution version of its ProScope USB microscope for Mac OS X and Windows PCs. The ProScope HR features a 1.3-megapixel imager. Prices start at $240 for a unit without a lens.
The ProScope HR is a USB video-class device that works with the native driver found in Mac OS X v10.4.8. Software included with the device lets you grab live views and still images at multiple resolution settings: 320 x 240, 640 x 480 and 1280 x 1024. You can also capture video, time lapse imagery and more. Additionally, the software works with the original, lower-resolution ProScope (it’s available for download from the ProScope Web site).
Bodelin sells a number of kits and lens attachments for the ProScope HR, as well.
System requirements call for a G4, G5 or Intel-based Mac, factory-installed USB 2.0 port, Mac OS X v10.4.8 or later and QuickTime 7 or later.
