ViewSonic’s new ViewDock VX1945wm and VX2245wm are 19-inch and 22-inch LCD displays that feature built-in iPod docks — the first displays to feature Apple’s “Made for iPod” certification. The widescreen displays cost $329 and $449 respectively.
Both displays incorporate an iPod dock, four USB 2.0 ports, an 8-in-1 flash media card reader, microphone, stereo speakers and subwoofer, enclosed in a silver and high-gloss black chassis. The ViewDock displays are rated at 700:1 contrast ratio and 5ms response times. The VX1945wm has a native 1440 x 900 resolution, while the VX2245wm has a native 1680 x 1050 resolution.
Both displays support multiple inputs, and include Digital Visual Interface (DVI), the interface found on newer Macs.
ViewSonic’s Web site had not been updated with information about the new displays as Macworld posted this article.
Editor’s note: Due to a reporting error the resolution of the displays was reversed. That has been corrected.
