Spatial on Wednesday announced the release of Universal binary versions of its 3D software development components — 3D ACIS Modeler, 3D ACIS Extensions and 3D InterOp Translators. The technology is used by developers creating 3D applications, and enables those applications to run natively on Intel and PowerPC-based Macs alike.
3D ACIS Modeler is used by CAD/CAM software developers; it’s an object-oriented C++ architecture that features wireframe, surface, and solid modeling capabilities. 3D InterOp Translators enable 3D data to be interchanged between different applications — CAD/CAM software and data management systems, for example.
