Automatic Duck on Tuesday announced that they have released new versions of Pro Import FCP (2.01) and Pro Export FCP (3.04) that are compatible with Intel-based Macs. They cost $495 each; upgrades are free for registered users of the latest major versions.
Pro Import FCP and Pro Export FCP are timeline translation tools for Apple’s Final Cut Pro video editing software. Pro Import FCP enables Final Cut Pro users to import Open Media Framework (OMF) compositions from Avid editing systems into Final Cut Pro; Pro Export FCP lets you export “Avid-compatible” OMF compositions from FCP.
In addition to Intel support, Automatic Duck has added support for StageTools’ MovingPicture into Pro Import FCP, so you can now import image moves in Avid sequences using MovingPicture into Final Cut Pro. MovingPicture enables users to incorporate pans and zooms to images with high image quality — it’s a popular tool for documentary editors.
