DDSMac has announced the release of MacDent Pro v1.5, an update to its dental practice management software for Mac OS X. The new release is a Universal binary and touts some new features as well. It costs $4,995.
MacDent Pro incorporates scheduling capabilities, report generation, prescription tracking, manages photos and scanned documents, integrates with aMac, the digital radiography software, manages treatment plans, produces HIPAA-compliant paperwork, and also features ledger support.
The software uses a client/server database structure built on top of PostgreSQL. The core MacDent Pro product includes support for up to 15 workstations over a network, and supports Bonjour zero-configuration networking.
Besides Universal binary support for Intel and PowerPC-based Macs, MacDent Pro now supports e-claims generation. It also features “Smile Reminder.”
System requirements call for a G5/1.6GHz or faster (for client, 1.8GHz or faster for server), Mac OS X v10.4 or later, 512MB RAM (1GB RAM for server), 30GB hard disk drive. A demo is available.
