Lismore Software Systems on Tuesday announced the release of Guest PC 1.9.7, a free update to its PC emulation software for PowerPC-based Macs. The new release adds support for Garmin Global Position System (GPS) hardware.
Guest PC emulates the operating characteristics of an X86-based PC, enabling Mac OS X users to run Windows or other operating systems. You can switch between Mac OS X and Windows at will.
Besides Garmin GPS device compatibility, the software also fixes occasional crashes on systems without networking connectivity, improves network functionality and offers better stability and compatibility.
Guest PC costs $69.99 — the price includes a “family license” that allows you to install the software on all computers in your family. The upgrade is free for registered users. System requirements call for a G3, G4 or G5 processor and Mac OS X v10.3 or later.
