GeoParty — a free TV-style trivia and educational game from Jonathan Nathan, author of Jon’s Little Page of AppleScripts — has been updated to version 1.0.2. New in this release is Universal binary support for Intel-based Macs and 50+ games created by Robert Jen, author of the Trivia Why’s book series.
GeoParty will remind you a little bit of the popular TV game show Jeopardy, as you use pre-built question and answer files. You can use the built-in ones, or retrieve other Q&A’s from an online repository. You can also create your own, which is why Nathan says that GeoParty’s equally suited either as a fun trivia game or a classroom tool to help motivate students.
Besides the additional games and Universal binary support, other enhancements include better handling of long category titles and long answers, Spanish localization, minor improvements to game play and minor interface tweaks.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3 or later. GeoParty is free, though the author encourages donations if you find it useful or fun.
