Barsark on Friday released Navicast v3.3, a new version of its Internet video and Web-TV publishing system.
Navicast lets individuals and companies publish, distribute and present video online through “Channels” on the Navicast system, using Navicast eZender, a Web-based TV player, an HTML-based mobile phone player, an online TV application, RSS and vodcast feeds.
New to this release is support for Windows Media — Navicast now supports QuickTime, MPEG-4, 3GP and Windows Media formats. Pay per view and subscription features have been added to Web and mobile phone players. New categorization functionality has been added within channels. The developer has also improved the user interface, fixed bugs and corrected “some UI oddities.”
The Navicast server software requires an Apache Web server, php, MySQL, QuickTime or Darwin Streaming Server and FTP access. For client access, Navicast needs QuickTime.
