Prairie Games on Tuesday announced the release of the Universal binary version of Minions of Mirth, its role playing game (RPG) that can be played both online as an MMORPG and offline as a single-player game. A free trial version can be downloaded; unlocking the Premium version costs $29.95.
Minions of Mirth puts you in the world of Mirth, a land populated by mythic and magical monsters and people. You create a character and explore the world, going on quests, fighting creatures, and more. The game features 12 playable races, 16 character classes and three different and distinct realms.
“There are significant performance gains and improved stability which greatly enhance the game,” said Prairie Games President Josh Ritter, referring to the Universal binary release.
Minions of Mirth is playable as a single player game, but if you’d like to share the experience with other gamers you can go online. And unlike many online RPGs, you don’t incur an additional fee to play online — the $29.95 registration fee is it. The free trial version gives you both single-player and MMORPG access, by the way.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or later, G4, G5 or Intel-based processor, 256MB RAM and OpenGL-compatible graphics with at least 64MB VRAM.
Paying for the Premium version removes restrictions, including access to Premium servers, multiclass characters to level 100/100/100, additional playable races and classes, premium equipment, new monsters, the ability to join and create guilds, and support to host your own persistent world.
