FXpansion has released the newest expansion pack for BFD, the company’s customizable drumkit for Digital Audio Workstations. According to FXpansion, BFD Percussion features “everything from latin, world and drumkit-centric percussion to junk and kitchenware via all manner of outlandish strangeness.” The instruments are recorded with up to 46 velocity layers, using multiple articulations and multiple mic channels including stereo ambience. The resulting sounds can be used in a variety of music styles and genres. The new pack is 26.1GB and includes Latin and world percussion like African, Middle Eastern, South Asian and Irish folk instruments; Junk and household items like pots, pans, cups and saw blades; and a variety of bells, blocks, tambourines and chimes as well as effect sounds like waterphones, thundersheets and bowed gongs. BFD Percussion costs $249 and is available from the FXpansion store.
