BeLight Software on Thursday introduced PrintFolio, an application suite that combines four of their previously-released printing programs: Business Card Composer, Swift Publisher, Disc Cover and Mail Factory, along with an image editing program called Image Tricks. They remain individually available, but Printfolio combines them together for $84.95.
Most of the applications are self-explanatory based on their names. Business Card Composer helps you design and print out your own business cards, hobby cards, calling cards and badges. It integrates in Apple’s Address Book application, as does Mail Factory, which helps you design and print out custom envelopes and address labels. Mail Factory also works with Microsoft Entourage and Excel, Now Contact, FileMaker, vCard format and text files.
Swift Publisher is a page layout application used for creating flyers, newsletters, letterhead, brochures and other content; it features 60 ready-made templates, 23,000 images, 100 unique masks and editing tools. And Disc Cover takes the page layout idea to CDs and other media, providing a cover and label printing environment.
Image Tricks is dependent on Tiger’s Core Image technology to provide real-time image processing capabilities — you can adjust colors, blur, distort,= and stylize your images, tile, kaleidoscope and crop pictures and more — 48 Core Image effects and filters are supports, along with 12 image generators, 30 unique masks, import support for more than 20 formats, and more.
Available as a Universal binary that runs natively on Intel and PowerPC-based Macs, Printfolio requires Mac OS X v10.3 or later (Mac OS X v10.4 is required to run Image Tricks). The download edition comes with limited clip art (1,000 images and 670 designs), while the CD version ships with much more (23,000 images) for an additional $5.
