ExpressDigital on Tuesday announced a plug-in for Apple Aperture 1.5 that makes it possible for users to upload their images directly to PhotoReflect.com, an online storefront for pro photographers.
PhotoReflect.com offers a palette of tools that professional photographers can use to sell prints and photo-related products online, generate e-mail marketing campaigns and design custom storefronts. Users visiting the site to purchase photos can order albums, memory mates, collages and trading cards. It’s used by more than 21,000 independent photographers and major studio chains.
With its 1.5 release, Aperture introduced a new plug-in architecture that enables third-party developers to connect the software directly to other products and services; the new plug-in is an example. The PhotoReflect.com plug-in enables Aperture users to upload photos directly to the service without leaving Aperture first.
The plug-in was publicly shown at last week’s Photo Plus expo in New York and is currently in closed beta testing. A company spokesperson estimated it will be released to the general public within a month or so.
