It’s an important election day here in the U.S. and I’ve got something like 439 ballot propositions to weigh through so I’m going to keep it short by simply stating:
The west coast is the best coast.
Not because of the beaches, Yosemite, Tahoe, Napa, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Apple, Disneyland, the Golden Gate Bridge, Coos Bay, the Cascades, Portland, Trinidad Head, Puget Sound, Macworld, Katie, Scott, and Pat in Seattle; the Pacific Crest Trail; Inverness; the Mad River; or Mendocino (okay, so I favor Northern California).
No, it’s because when I pre-order Pixar’s
Cars , I receive notification that it’s ready to download at 9:00 PM on the day before it’s released on DVD. Oh sure, my buddies in Boston, neighbors in New York, and mates in Miami are sent their notices at exactly the same time, but it’s in the bloody middle of the night for them and unless they want to walk around work the next day with an IV full of French Roast, they’re going to have to wait until the day of the DVD release to watch it.
Me? An hour to download, two hours to watch it, and I’m still in bed by midnight.
Har, may I say, dee har har.
And hey, you, Hawaiian, keep your yap shut. I’m jealous enough already.
