Voxred International on Wednesday announced the iTurbo, a “portable power source” for the iPod mini, iPod nano, fourth and fifth-generation iPods. It provides additional battery life when the iPod’s own battery is low, using a standard AA battery, and will sell for $29.99 – $34.99 starting Nov. 15, 2006.
The iTurbo is about the size of a tube of lip balm, and contains a standard AA alkaline battery. The blue light on top of the iTurbo lights up to indicate that juice is flowing. The amount of charge time the iTurbo offers depends on the iPod model — Voxred estimates that an iPod nano, for example, can get another nine hours of playtime from the iTurbo.
