Looking for a Mac OS X-native version of the classic board game Scrabble that also runs natively on Intel-based Macs? It’s available from GameHouse, and you can try it before you buy it. Scrabble costs $19.95.
GameHouse’s Scrabble, licensed from Hasbro, features eight different computer opponents, and you can play head to head with other players in four different game modes: Classic, a straight conversion of what it’s like to play the board game, a race against the clock in Blitz, a Tournament mode that has you compete for placement, or Custom Tournament, which lets you set up the rules to win your own way.
Features include hints, “best play” words and more, and the game is bundled with Merriam-Webster’s official Scrabble Player’s Dictionary — Fourth Edition.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later. A Universal binary, Scrabble runs natively on Intel or PowerPC-based Macs.
