Fastmac on Friday announced the release of a new extended life battery designed to act as a replacement for the battery included with Apple’s “Pismo”-era PowerBook G3 model. The 84 watt-hour battery offers up to 68 percent more capacity than the original factory battery, according to Fastmac. It costs $139.95.
The new TruePower battery uses Lithium-Ion cells with integrated charge indicator LEDs. Sensors within the battery are designed to prevent “undesirable levels of swelling or a short circuit,” as well.
What’s more, Fastmac is bundling the battery with a G4/550MHz processor upgrade designed for the PowerBook G3, for $349.95.
