Fidelity Media has released MegaSeg 4.0, a major update to its popular DJ software for Mac OS X. It costs $199; upgrades from previous versions cost $59.
MegaSeg is designed for disc jockeys who want to use their Macs as their central control — it provides you with instant access to your entire digital music collection, and offers beat-mixing capabilities, the ability to annotate your music with text notes and color coding; video playback and more.
MegaSeg 4.0 features more than 100 enhancements, according to the developer — most notably Universal binary support that enables MegaSeg to work natively on both Intel and PowerPC-based Macs. Color-coded tracks and categories are new, along with a refined interface, faster importing from itunes, track looping, pitch-lock support, MIDI customization and network library syncing.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2 or later, G3/600MHz or faster, and 512MB RAM. A time-limited demo version is available for download.
