SmileOnMyMac has released DiscLabel 4.0, a major upgrade to its CD and DVD label design software for Mac OS X. DiscLabel costs $32.95; users of previous versions can upgrade for $15.
DiscLabel lets you create and print CD labels, jewel case inserts and DVD covers; it imports iTunes track lists and track information, works with iPhoto libraries and supports LightScribe (special discs and disc burners that can burn an iridescent label into the media). It also supports label sheets and direct-to-print media.
New to the 4.0 release are design tools like multiple layer support and multicolor gradients fills in text and objects, and improvements to the software’s interface that simplify its use. New freehand scribble and polygon tools have been added, the text editing interface has been improved, and performance is better.
A demo version is available for download. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or later.
