Apimac on Thursday announced the release of Slide Show 8.0, a new version of its slideshow and presentation software for multimedia files. A free upgrade for registered users, Slide Show 8.0 costs $29.95.
Slide Show handles multimedia formats including QuickTime movies, Quicktime VR, MP3, MPEG, JPEG, TIFF, Photoshop, PNG, AIFF, AU, WAV, DV and many other file formats — you drag and drop files and folders onto the main window then click Play; you can also create free-standing slideshows that can be distributed on Mac OS X or Windows platforms.
New to the 8.0 release is Universal binary support — the Mac version now runs natively on Intel and PowerPC-based Macs. The Windows version has also been updated (to run on Microsoft’s new Vista operating systems).
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2.8 or later and 256MB RAM.
