Smallware has released Solavant 2.0, a new version of their “serious solitaire” game for the Mac. Solavant costs $27; upgrades from previous releases are free.
Solavant includes 223 variations on solitaire card games, and Smallware bills the game as harder than many solitaire games. There are “no easy games, hints or cheats,” according to the developer. Solavant tracks your game stats, timing and scoring, as well.
New to the 2.0 version are new game variations and Universal binary support. Also new in this release is support for the “Winnable Deals Project,” an effort from Smallware to share games that have an opening deal that have been beaten by someone. “This makes the game more of a puzzle — you know it can be won, you just have to figure out how,” explained the developer.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3 or later.
