XtremeMac added to its lineup of iPod accessories by introducing an iPod-compatible alarm clock that includes an on-screen menu system. In addition to letting users sleep and wake to their iPods or the radio, the new Luna alarm clock also doubles as a speaker system.
Luna’s settings are controlled by four large, multi-function knobs located on top of the unit. There’s also a wireless remote for controlling the alarm clock.
Luna has two independent alarms with customizable sources—users can pick between their iPod, the radio, or a buzzer as the alarm source. The device also lets users set gradually increasing and decreasing volume for the alarms and sleep timer.
Besides its customizable alarm clock features and four radio station presets, Luna sports two full-range speakers and a two-channel amplifier. It works with any iPod with a dock connector. What’s more, an aux-in port lets users connect other devices, including older iPods, iPod shuffles, and other MP3 players.
XtremeMac has begun taking pre-orders for the Luna for $149.95; the company expects the alarm clock to ship in December.
