Just in time for the holiday buying season Apple is circulating three new Get a Mac television advertisements, featuring John Hodgman as the PC and Justin Long as the Mac. If you don’t want to wait for prime time TV to see the spots, you can watch them on Apple’s Web site instead, using QuickTime.
The three new ads are entitled “Gift Exchange,” “Sales Pitch” and “Meant for Work.” “Gift Exchange” demonstrates how easy it is to produce a hardcover book of photos using iPhoto, which the Mac presents to the clueless PC, who instead wants the C++ GUI Programming Guide he got the Mac as a gift.
PC’s insecurity rises to a fever pitch in Sales Pitch, where, threatened by Mac’s rising popularity, he uses his time on the air to shill relentlessly to get people to buy him.
And in Meant for Work, a sticker-covered and dissheveled PC laments how he’s not as well suited for use by kids as Mac. He groans about having to listen to emo and stomps off, revealing an anarchy sticker that’s stuck on his back.
