MacTech magazine on Tuesday announced that its MacForge open source project index now lists more than 40,000 projects. That milestone has been reached in less than a year, according to the company, and the list of open source projects continues to grow.
MacForge specifically indexes open source projects that have either been built for and tested on the Mac or are likely to run on the Mac without major porting work. Features of the site include filtering options, search, category browsing and sorting.
MacTech lists the site as a public beta, and actively encourages users to offer ideas for how they would like to see MacForge.net evolve in the future.
