Photopolis is a new freeware photo viewing app for Mac OS X that uses a different approach — rather than albums, it assembles collections of photos as “houses.”
Photopolis extracts the dates your photos were taken; each week’s worth of photos is then assembled in a “house.” Four houses represent a block — eventually, you’ll build a city with your photos.
“Our friends and relatives are having a lot of fun using Photopolis. We want everyone to enjoy it,” said the developers. They have released Photopolis as open-source code, and want the community to continue to develop it.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or later, Java 1.5 or later, G3 or faster processor, dedicated graphics card and 100MB of hard disk space for each 1000 photos.
