Silex technology america on Monday announced the release of the wiDock, a wireless dock for the iPod. It costs $149.
The wiDock enables the iPod to sync wirelessly to a Mac or PC using Wi-Fi instead of USB 2.0. The wiDock does connect to a power output, however, so it continues to charge the iPod’s battery. It also connects to a home stereo and television using a 3.5 mm cable (a 3.5-RCA cable is included) and S-Video.
The wiDock connects to Wi-Fi networks that support 802.11b and 802.11g networks (including Apple AirPort, AirPort Express and AirPort Extreme base stations), and supports wireless security modes including WEP, WPA and WPA2 protocols.
The WiDock is compatible with Mac OS X v10.2.7 or later and Windows 2000 and XP.
