Apricorn on Tuesday introduced an 80GB version of its Aegis Mini — a pocket-sized hard disk drive that uses either USB 2.0 or FireWire 400. The 80GB model costs $249 for the USB 2.0 version, and $259 for the FireWire version.
Compatible with the Mac and PC, the Aegis Mini comes in 30GB, 60GB and 80GB capacities. The drive is bus-powered, so no external power supply is needed, and the included data cable wraps around the case when it’s not in use.
The drive comes with a neoprene carrying pouch, one-meter USB extension cable, ShirtPocket SuperDuper! backup software for Mac OS X, Synchronize! X for Mac and Apricorn’s own Encryption Utility software.
