Aspyr Media on Wednesday announced the release of updates to Command & Conquer Generals and its official expansion pack, Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour which make them work natively on Intel Macs. Command & Conquer Generals 1.0.4 and Zero Hour 1.0.2 are now available for download.
Command & Conquer Generals is a fairly recent installment of the enormously popular real-time strategy game series. Set in a near-future world, you control the military arsenals of the United States, the People’s Republic of China or the guerilla-like Global Liberation Army. You take on opponents in full 3D environments as you seek to win territory and obtain precious resources. You can also go head-to-head against other Mac players — up to eight at a time — in multiplayer battles.
The Zero Hour expansion pack adds 30 new units to the basic game and 20 upgrades to existing units. It also adds 15 all-new missions, new weather effects and more than two dozen additional multiplayer maps.
In addition to native Intel support, the update provides improved Internet game functionality in conjunction with a version 4.6.1 update to GameRanger, the Mac game finding and online chat service.
